Kinetic Typography

This if my final assignment for CGT 25100. I'm quite pleased with it, despite its flaws. When I exported it in quicktime, it started lagging something fierce. It's a lot smoother in flash, but since this site won't load flash, this is the best I can do.

Logo Redesign Project-CGT25100

I decided to redesign the Internet Movie Database logo, better known as IMDb, because I thought it was outdated and didn't express what the website had evolved into over the years. To me, IMDb is a place to connect with those in the movie, television, and video game business. Because the website is so universal, I wanted to create a logo that was also universal. I think the countdown screen that was used in old movies, as well as television, is something that is recognizable to most. I think the logo turned out well, and hopefully it is a good description of the website in logo form.

Illustration Friday-Adrift

This is my submission for Illustration Friday. The theme for this week was "adrift." I was inspired by the movie Up, which I believe represents the idea of adrift quite well. The glasses (which are similar to those worn by Carl in the movie) are supposed to be old and worn, representing old age and a lifetime of experiences; the balloon is supposed to represent old memories from the past that cannot be reached. The entire picture is a representation of being adrift through life.
